This artist’s conception shows newly discovered planet Gliese 581g, which has a 37-day orbit right in the middle of the star’s habitable zone. The Gliese 581 system and its host red dwarf star is only 20 light years from Earth.

The recent discovery of Gliese 581g, an alien planet in the habitable zone of another star, has been an exciting development for scientists probing the galaxy for signs of extraterrestrial life. At least one claim of a possible signal from the planet has already surfaced – and been met with harsh skepticism among the science community.

Following the Sept. 29 announcement of the discovery of Gliese 581g, astronomer Ragbir Bhathal, a scientist at the University of Western Sydney, claimed to have detected a suspicious pulse of light nearly two years ago, that came from the same area of the galaxy as the location of Gliese 581g, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail online. [Alien Planet Gliese581g: FAQ]

Bhathal is a member of the Australian chapter of SETI, a non-profit scientific organization that is dedicated to research, exploration and education in the field of astrobiology.

“Whenever there’s a clear night, I go up to the observatory and do a run on some of the celestial objects,” Bhathal told the Daily Mail. “Looking at one of these objects, we found this signal. We found this very sharp signal, sort of a laser lookalike thing which is the sort of thing we’re looking for – a very sharp spike. And that is what we found.”

“I know the scientist, and when he first announced it, I asked him for the details, and he wouldn’t send them to me,” astronomer and SETI pioneer Frank Drake told “I’m very suspicious.”

Drake is credited with conducting the first search for signals from extraterrestrial intelligences 50 years ago as part of what was then called Project Ozma. He coined the famed Drake Equation to calculate the number (N) of alien civilizations with whom we might be able to communicate.

Further study would perhaps confirm or deny the supposed observation, but Drake thinks that the claim is likely a dubious one.

Strange signal, or phantom?

Bhathal claimed to have detected the puzzling signal in Dec. 2008, almost two years before researchers announced the Gliese 581g finding, and long before it was announced that habitable planets were found orbiting the star Gliese 581 itself.

“I’m not aware of the location that was claimed for the source of that light, and [Bhathal] refused to tell me where it came from,” Drake said. “I think it’s very unlikely that it came from the direction of Gliese 581.”

Gliese 581g is one of two new worlds that was discovered orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581, which is located about 20.5 light-years from Earth. In total, there is a family of six planets that has been found around Gliese 581. [Tour the six Gliese 581 planets.]

Steven Vogt, a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of California, and his colleague Paul Butler of the Carnegie Institution of Washington announced the Gliese 581g finding in a press conference held by the National Science Foundation on Sept. 29.

About Gliese 581g

While there are six planets known to orbit around the parent star, Gliese 581g is the only one in the so-called habitable zone – a region where liquid water can exist. Astronomers have long-thought that the presence of liquid water, which accompanies life on Earth, could be a major ingredient for life on other worlds.

Observations have shown that Gliese 581g is between three and four times the mass of Earth. While it is larger than our planet, it is still classified as a nearly Earth-sized world. Its radius is between 1.3 and two times the size of Earth, scientists have said.

The planet has not been officially named yet (nor have any other worlds in the Gliese 581 system). But Vogt has given it the nickname “Zarmina’s World,” in honor of his wife.

Here we go folks this could be what we never wanted to see, not a happy moment…

New Earth-like planet discovered

Gliese 581g in ‘Goldilocks zone’ of space where liquid water could exist is strong contender for a habitable world

Astronomers have discovered a potentially habitable planet of similar size to Earth in orbit around a nearby star.

A team of planet hunters spotted the alien world circling a red dwarf star called Gliese 581, 20 light years away.

The planet is in the “Goldilocks zone” of space around a star where surface temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold for liquid water to form.

“Our findings offer a very compelling case for a potentially habitable planet,” said Steven Vogt, an astronomer at the University of California, Santa Cruz. “The fact that we were able to detect this planet so quickly and so nearby tells us that planets like this must be really common.”

If confirmed, the planet would be the most Earth-like that has ever been discovered in another solar system and the first strong contender for a habitable one.

More than 400 exoplanets have been discovered by astronomers, but most are gas giants, like Jupiter, that would be inhospitable to life as we know it.

Astronomers used the Keck telescope in Hawaii to study the movement of Gliese 581 in exquisite detail and from their observations inferred the presence of a number of orbiting planets. The team report two new planets in the Astrophysical Journal, bringing the total number known to be circling the star to six.

One of the planets, named Gliese 581g, has a mass of three to four times that of Earth and takes 37 days to orbit the star. Astronomers believe it is a rocky planet with enough gravity to retain an atmosphere.

Unlike the previously discovered planets, Gliese 581g lies squarely in the region of space were life can thrive. “We had planets on both sides of the habitable zone — one too hot and one too cold — and now we have one in the middle that’s just right,” Vogt said.

One side of the planet is always facing the star, much as one side of the moon constantly faces Earth. This means that the far side of the planet is constantly in darkness. The most habitable region of the planet would be the line between the light and dark regions.

“Any emerging life forms would have a wide range of stable climates to choose from and to evolve around, depending on their longitude,” Vogt said.

The average temperature on the planet is estimated to be between -31 to -12C, but the ground temperature would vary from blazing hot on the bright side and freezing on the dark side.

“The number of systems with potentially habitable planets is probably on the order of 10 or 20 percent, and when you multiply that by the hundreds of billions of stars in the Milky Way, that’s a large number. There could be tens of billions of these systems in our galaxy,” said Vogt.

Hello fans i am very sorry it has been a while since my last up-date it seems the toll of every day has been taking me over..

anyhow lets get to the new shell we?

In response to the UFO sightings over Hong Kong, Wang Sichao, a planetary astronomer from the Purple Hills Observatory under the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), confirmed after one week of analysis that the UFO sightings were “ghost images” as a result of the reflection on camera lenses from the intense light emitted by outdoor circular lamps. The outdoor circular lamps are symmetrical to the video image center.

According to Radio Television Hong Kong, within one hour after midnight on Sept. 9, the Hong Kong Observatory received several reports about UFO sightings at the Tai Lam Tunnel, Wan Chai, Happy Valley and other areas amid thunderstorms. The videos and pictures taken by witnesses show that the UFOs are plate-shaped, and several luminous circles formed a large circle. They were constantly moving amid flashes of lightning.

“UFOs have been frequently sighted in Hong Kong recently. On Sept. 9 alone, UFOs were spotted five times. Two witnesses shot a unique flying saucer-shaped UFO capable of moving and a UFO with some lamps arranged in a circular pattern,” said Wang.

Previously, Hu Hongjun, director of the Science Department under the Hong Kong Observatory, gave a common explanation of the UFOs. He said that the light spots are a result the reflection of planets, stars, man-made satellites, shooting stars, luminous kites, Kongming Lanterns or reflector lamps onto clouds. Wang, however, takes a contrary view.

“I have analyzed and researched the UFOs, which are a result of ‘ghost images’ from the reflection of the intense light emitted by outdoor circular lamps on camera lens,” said Wang, “The closer the outdoor circular lamps are to the video image center, the brighter the ‘ghost images’ will be. A bright circular lamp array can be found where the flying saucer-shaped UFO is symmetrical to the video image center, and below the circular lamp array is the lamp post. The ghost images are much darker than the original light source.”

Doomsday warnings of US apocalypse gain ground

By Hugues Honore (AFP) – 6 days ago

WASHINGTON — Economists peddling dire warnings that the world’s number one economy is on the brink of collapse, amid high rates of unemployment and a spiraling public deficit, are flourishing here.

The guru of this doomsday line of thinking may be economist Nouriel Roubini, thrust into the forefront after predicting the chaos wrought by the subprime mortgage crisis and the collapse of the housing bubble.

“The US has run out of bullets,” Roubini told an economic forum in Italy earlier this month. “Any shock at this point can tip you back into recession.”

But other economists, who have so far stayed out of the media limelight, are also proselytizing nightmarish visions of the future.

Boston University professor Laurence Kotlikoff, who warned as far back as the 1980s of the dangers of a public deficit, lent credence to such dark predictions in an International Monetary Fund publication last week.

He unveiled a doomsday scenario — which many dismiss as pure fantasy — of an economic clash between superpowers the United States and China, which holds more than 843 billion dollars of US Treasury bonds.

“A minor trade dispute between the United States and China could make some people think that other people are going to sell US treasury bonds,” he wrote in the IMF’s Finance & Development review.

“That belief, coupled with major concern about inflation, could lead to a sell-off of government bonds that causes the public to withdraw their bank deposits and buy durable goods.”

Kotlikoff warned such a move would spark a run on banks and money market funds as well as insurance companies as policy holders cash in their surrender values.

“In a short period of time, the Federal Reserve would have to print trillions of dollars to cover its explicit and implicit guarantees. All that new money could produce strong inflation, perhaps hyperinflation,” he said.

“There are other less apocalyptic, perhaps more plausible, but still quite unpleasant, scenarios that could result from multiple equilibria.”

According to a poll by the StrategyOne Institute published Friday, some 65 percent of Americans believe there will be a new recession.

And the view that America is on a decline seems rather well ingrained in many people’s minds supported by 65 percent of people questioned in a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll published last week.

“It is true: Today’s economic problems are structural, not cyclical,” argued New York Times editorial writer David Brooks.

He said the United Sates is losing its world dominance much in the same way the British Empire began to crumble more than a century ago.

“We are in the middle of yet another jobless recovery. Wages have been lagging for decades. Our labor market woes are deep and intractable,” Brooks said.

Nobel Economics Prize winner Paul Krugman also voiced concern about the fate of the fragile economic recovery if voters return the Republicans to political power.

“It’s hard to overstate how destructive the economic ideas offered earlier this week by John Boehner, the House minority leader, would be if put into practice,” he wrote in a recent editorial.

“Fewer jobs and bigger deficits — the perfect combination.”

The Wall Street Journal, usually more favorable to Boehner’s call for tax cuts, ran a commentary from another Nobel Prize-winning economist — Vernon Smith — that failed to provide much comfort for readers.

“This fact needs to be confronted: We are almost surely in for a long slog,” Smith wrote.

And it seems such pessimism has even filtered into the IMF, which warned on Friday that high levels of national debt and a still shaky financial sector threaten to derail the global economic recovery.

“The foreclosure backlog in US property markets is large and growing, in part due to the recent expiration of the home buyer’s tax credit. When realized, this could further depress real estate prices.”

This could lead to “disproportionate losses” for small and medium-sized banks, which could in turn “precipitate a loss of market confidence in the recovery,” the IMF warned.

we are going to talk a moment about Occam’s Razor…what the hell is Occam’s Razor? you might ask,

Occam’s razor is a logical principle attributed to the mediaeval philosopher William of Occam (or Ockham). The principle states that one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed. This principle is often called the principle of parsimony. It underlies all scientific modelling and theory building. It admonishes us to choose from a set of otherwise equivalent models of a given phenomenon the simplest one…

i believe that this is greatly used to much… now let us switch this up for a moment shell we?

western Russia is a blaze at the moment from record breaking heat waves at over 100 for days, thick smog and red sky’s is pretty much all that can be seen…let us forget for a minute that we haven’t seen the stars over many areas for days, or the fact that we are now facing an heat wave that doesn’t just focus on the US but most the world.. ..this comes all on the wings of a massive solar storm in witch the sun sent  billions of billions of particles directly at earth…some states lost power and others brown outs, now  lets get to the point?….well we are being told that this is just a case of Occam’s Razor.. it was a solar storm and that is that, there is no more to the story and everything is fine, i happen to believe that all the small things all add up to make a bigger and brighter pitcher…okay maybe Occam’s Razor is good in theory but not in 98% of the time..and mostly not in this case. to tell us that there will not be any immediate and longterm effects is a lie i hope no one will believe without a fight…

remember we are  all given one of the greatest gifts and that my friends is free will, let us take back the dark and lonley night, let us find hope in the darkest of corners and let us believe the truth is out there…

Video: Solar Eruption

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded a trio of awesome solar phenomena on August 1. A sunspot gave rise to a solar flare which erupted nearly simultaneously with a huge magnetic filament. A solar tsunami can also be seen emanating from the flare.

The different events seem to be all part of one enormous, complex, interconnected solar eruption that occupies nearly the entire face of the sun. In the video above, four different views of the events in different radiation wavelengths are shown in sequence, and different phenomena can be seen more prominently in some wavelengths.

The solar flare is the bright spot that appears to explode out of sunspot 1092 on the left side of the image, and may be more impressive in the fourth clip. The magnetic filament is a dark band that seems to roll across the northern hemisphere of the sun and is most visible in the third clip. In the first clip, the shock wave, or solar tsunami can be seen emerging from the flare and moving toward the filament. It can be seen better in this full screen version of the clip.

The event also caused a coronal mass ejection to head directly toward earth, which may mean people in the northern latitudes will be treated to auroras around August 3.

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Laboratory recorded a variety of solar phenomena on August 1st. An erupting sunspot gave rise to a solar flare, a rolling magnetic filament, and a solar tsunami, all captured in this

UFO DISCLOSURE 2010……By The People for The People and High Strangeness in Upstate New York

MUFON Case Report: 24077 Date Reported July 1, 2010 Event Date June 3, 2010

Cigar/Cylinder/Capsule Video capture Silent Daytime Clear Sighting Multiple events. This was filmed on June 3, 2010 at 7:48 PM in Wilton, NY…Saratoga County on Northern Pines Rd and is one of several captures of this capsule type UFO that I see repeatedly and could also be classified as Cigar shaped or cylindrical. in 1998 a Correctional Officer in Fort Ticonderoga, NY captured an identical craft on video, next to church steeple and it appeared on the cover of many UFO magazines. This flying Tube has been captured by many people who post on You tube from around the world and can be seen on my yt channel CosmicDramaQueen the playlist is called UFO Cigar Cylinder Capsule Tube . I was driving home when I stopped to admire the wild flowers in a field on Northern Pines Rd, I was contemplating picking some while I listened to the birds…and then I saw the familiar flying white tube, so I hopped back to my truck, grabbed the camera and filmed this one for a long time. Elevation was well under 5000′ and was approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile with in view. I was facing East and it was flying from the South heading due North. I had this UFO in my sites for so long and because I captured this on several occasions, I got a little bored, so I panned out to show the field and then resumed the filming as it angled away towards the North East. Many people will “Hang on” to the idea that this is a Plane….NOPE…absolutely SILENT…NO wings…No Tail….watch the video closely from beginning to end and YOU too will see that the Lack of wings and tail section IS NOT an optical illusion. I will continue to report and share in the Disclosure Process because if We wait for an official announcement….well, we could possible wait another 60 years. It is We, the people who have to accept the REALITY that UFOs are REAL and are HERE… and then help the one’s who are too afraid to understand this reality! Peace to ALL Beings.
